another "hap bur.day"

Well today we celebrate a pre-teen birthday.

Yes I just said "PRE-TEEN"...yikes.

Trevor is TWELVE years old today...TWELVE YEARS OLD! It is amazing how fast the years fly by. I still remember an adorable star wars loving little man with a smile that would melt your heart. I guess when I think about it not much has changed...okay, he is not so little and maybe grew out of star wars...but you get the idea. hehe.

Trev is becoming an amazing young man I tell yah. He adores his brother and sister (most of the time). He is doing awesome in his first year of French Immersion and LOVING all things baseball. Last night was his first time pitching and I must say, very impressive!

So mister "pre-teen"...take it easy on us would yah. We will have to get used to having a young man around the house! We hope that you have an awesome birthday...and from Si a very "hap bur.day"!

We will leave you with a photo that Michele was able to capture at Simon's birthday...

my "hap bur.day"

Everything was fantastic. Great friends, wonderful snacks and a beautiful day. Really, we could not have asked for more. Simon was of course spoiled by friends and family...he thanks everyone for the gifts. Now who is up to volunteer moving it all to our new place? ha.

Michele was kind enough to take photos of the day for us (I am so grateful as otherwise I would have nothing...so thank you).

So that is it...our baby boy is now TWO! Time sure does fly by.

Here are a few to share...more to come of course...

one boy. one girl.

Young love.

Okay, maybe not all of the time. But lets be honest...we all have our moments! Si and his lovely friend Miss Nevaeh have not had a chance to spend much time together lately...and it seemed that they really missed eachother.

No spats, no screaming...only good ol' fashioned cookie decorating and some time spent out on the slide. What a life! They enjoyed the day and the time they were able to spend together...hopefully this is an indication of how we can expect future visits to go...

where is "the boy"?

We all know what happens when you dont hear a toddler...

It cannot be anything good.

Well, Simon went on a little bedroom adventure the other day. He pulled out a drawer from under his bed (which has been there since birth) and decided it was time to see what he could do with BABY POWDER! Ah yes, too much fun was had...

By the time we noticed that he the house was far too quiet...we already had a mess on our hands. Who could be mad at this? hehe. He was happy to help clean up with a baby wipe and I must say, his room smells pretty fantastic...

the big day

Its official (well technically not until 11:35pm, but lets be serious). Our little man turned TWO today...

This photo was taken by Michele Dyson our lovely friend and mother to Simon's future wife. hehe. Thank you Michele! With my computer on the fritz and no editing software...I am happy to have something adorable to post of the birthday boy. I think someone needs a cupcake...oh, Simon too...

birthday wishes

For the littlest man of the house...as tomorrow he turns TWO!

Waking up to his precious little face every morning has been purely amazing and I would not trade it for the world. Don't get me wrong, it sure does have its moments...but all in all...I consider myself nothing less then lucky.

This past year has brought us a happy, outgoing, fun-loving, spirited, smart and mischievous toddler. He loves all things sports, trucks and would easily spend every waking minute outside "working" with his daddy. I do believe his daddy is his hero at this stage and well at times I am envious of how he waits at the window for the car to pull up...I know that he would likely do the same if he didn't spend all of his time with me (I at least tell myself that...hehe). He adores his big brother & big sister, chats about them constantly and lights up the second they enter the room. Of course, he has his less precious moments as well...but don't we all?

Looking back on the past year I realize how much he has grown and changed. How everyday it seems to be something new, and watching the world through his eyes is nothing short of a gift to all of us.

We love you little mister. Your smile is infectious and we cannot wait to see what you have in store for us over the next 365 days!

your fam.

five faces

So many expressions from our little man...I wish I could catch them all on camera! Often times I am just not fast enough. These were all taken within seconds of eachother...he heard a plane fly over and quickly jumped up to see "er eh oh?" (where did it go?) hehe.

**okay I had to add a few extra**

never?

I have never been one to leave the house and not match. Yes, I know...does it really matter? Well it does to me! I put on my make-up even when I am set to remain at home all day, I always get dressed...even if we are calling it a "pj" day, and I never leave my hair a mess. Some may think I am crazy, but really its about making myself feel good!

So when it comes to my little man its not much different. Generally he stays in something casual through his naptime as who really wants to sleep in jeans? But outside of that, he is photo-op ready almost always. hehe. I always said I would "NEVER" let my boy not match...hahaha. Well, who can resist when you send the little guy to his room asking him to find some socks and he locates that one bright red pair that you know is in the basket. How can I say "no"? He found them, closed the drawer, shut the closet and ploped himself in from of me proudly displaying what he had done. "SOCKS" he said! Red or not, he was wearing them as I was too proud to care...so I am again reminded of one of lifes lessons by the littlest of people...Never say Never...

(on a side note, that finger has not left his mouth in several days...I think those molars are trying to break through)

baby talk

So, the official countdown is on. Ahhhhh.

The reality that this baby is coming has finally set in. Currently we have a c-section scheduled for May 27th (for those who do not know, Simon was born via c-section). My actual due date is June 1st...so the c-section would be booked only a few days early. Simon came into this world 2 weeks prior to his due date, for those who are calculating time (I sure am).

My next doctors appointment is this coming Friday. I then have a specialist appointment on Monday. This should give us a better idea of "time"...okay I at least hope it does. I am free on the 16th if you are listening (that was for the baby). I actually had a little chat with baby this morning to let it know that May 16th would be great...how does 7am sound? hehe.

So we will keep you all posted...this is going to be a hectic couple of months. We have Simon & Trevors birthdays this month and are trying to pack while getting some R & R. Move date is set to be May 30th. Okay, its official, we are N U T S!!!

As for baby names...I know you all have your thoughts...so share already! The "game" is back in the March archives. I have another girls name that I love...however I am sure that it would put many of you off....hahaha. Okay, maybe I wont share!

super simon

He is our very own at home super hero!

100 miles an hour
24 hours per day
7 days a week...

story telling

As I sit typing this, I have a little man sitting outside on the deck eating his "cheesey sandwich" and enjoying the birds...

The birds, bikes, lawn mowers, big trucks and all the sounds that being outside has to offer. He has quite the stories to tell these days. Most of them made up of several unrelated words that generally go a little something like this...

Mama...big truck...birds...wow...mmmm...okay...water...all done. So, you do have to listen carefully or you might just miss out!

Since he has been so busy telling stories, he has inspired me to put together some storyboards of his adventures. So, I share with you the photos below...

because i can

That is the reason I blog, share our day to day activities, and well...all around try to keep you in the loop. Because I can. So, where is this leading...

I wanted to let you all know how proud I am of the youngest man in this house. Yesterday he used the toilet for something other then a pee pee...thats right...you all know what that means! Of course, when you are an at home mommy this is a total thrill and one which is to be shared with the world! hehe.

So little Simon, you have one proud mama...keep it up bud...

keeping busy...

The latest photos which were taken just this past week can be found below...get excited...cause I love them...

I think I have finally found the secret to getting something other then a close up...take this little guy to an open field and chase him! ha. It doesnt hurt that he was flying his little plane all over the place. I wasnt sure that I would ever get that thing back though!

In other family news...

We are busy with trying to sell our house, it is taking a little longer then we had hoped, but we cant control everything. Trust me, I have tried...and tried! It will happen, and soon...I just know it. The new house is coming along and looking amazing. Drywall is set to start next week, which will take about 6 days. I cant believe that its actually going to start looking like our "home".

Mark is busy with work, and totally looking forward to the golf season! He has agreed to one sport this year (YAY) and golf will be the game of choice.

The kids are all doing fantastic. Excited about the warmer weather and enjoying spending more time outside. I do believe they are a little anxious about how life will change when yet another baby enters our family...hey, I am wondering how it will all work out too! But we all know it just will. The countdown is on...
