Merry Christmas!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We had a fantastic day which was spent at home with family. Of course Simon was all over the idea of presents and went into major "pressie overload"! Isla was pretty mellow and would have rather just eaten paper all day long...hehe. The older kids spent Christmas with their Mom in Vancouver and were very much missed...we will be having our own Christmas with them this weekend...YAY!! Can hardly wait...I am sure Simon will sleep for days when this is all over...

Thanks Santa for being so darn good to all of us. What a fortunate bunch we are! Missing all of the fam that was not able to spend the time with us and hoping that you are on the mend Dad...sick on Christmas is just no fun!

Lots of love to all...

life in the kid lane.

Its a crazy life, but I have to say...I love every minute of it. Okay, maybe not EVERY minute. The peeing on the bathroom floor recently simply for kicks I could have done without. It was Simon in case anyone was thinking otherwise!

We are moving quickly towards Christmas. I LOVE Christmas. The giving...yes the giving...LOVE IT! I always way overdue it, and although Mark is constantly trying to tighten the reins on my Christmas spending, I just cannot seem to help myself! Enough of that. Kids...that is what you are reading for...KIDS...

They are amazing. Each and everyone of them!

Isla has cut her first two teeth [she is growing far too fast]. She is rolling from back to front but has little to no interest in going the other way. Oh and she is a CHUNK! hehe. We have a docs appointment tomorrow, so we will see just how big this girl is!

Simon is excellent. He is loving his daycare time...a few 1/2 days per week seems to be just right for him. He enjoys the break from home and playing with his buds...which is awesome. To sum this little man up I would say "booty shakin' chatterbox". ha. He can talk non stop (wonder where that came from)? Oh and his dance skills? Off the hook!

Haley is awesome! The perfectly happy, although at times defient 10 year old. We adore every bit of her. Brought home a fantastic report card...all A's but one and is just all around kickin' butt. She has also started up with swimming again and is on the local team. She loves it and has already been to a meet. Keep it up Haley!!!

Trevor...the little pre-teen...just kidding. He is doing great. Working hard in school and brought home straight A's. How can we not be proud? Sports wise he is right into baseball and doing the indoor thing over the cold months. He also rocked volleyball and I believe he is going to give basketball a go as well...way to go Trev...you just dont know until you try!

Us? Ah...we are great. Busy. Getting ready for Christmas. I could go on...but I wont. Photos of the older kids should be coming soon. Had plans, then Trev fell ill.

Lots of photos below...ENJOY!

the fun of it all.

Being a mom that is! It is the most amazing and most difficult job this girl has ever had.

I love being a mommy to all of our amazing kids. I dont think that life could be any better. One day I will sleep...likely not the in the near future....

UPDATES:

Trev...this boy is growing up way too fast. He is starting to really do his own thing and we are loosing our "cool" status in a hurry. Sigh. If only we could turn back time! Doing awesome in school (yup, we are proud I tell yah). Oh and playing volleyball...which he said he would NEVER play, but now loves.

Haley...just joined the junior swim club and is a ROCKSTAR! This girl can swim! I am hoping to get down to the pool and take some photos of her doing her thing. She is loving school and doing amazing. Our little free spirit this one.

Si...busy being a boy. A loud, rough, wild little boy and we would not have it any other way. He is such a character and can shake his booty like no other. We really have to watch what we say these days i tell yah.

Isla...little miss giggles. This is one happy baby I tell yah! All smiles. She is perfectly precious. Has rolled a few times, pretty sure it was by fluke though. Other then that, she is still our little blob!

Mark & I...busy being parents. Loving every minute! Missing our family and often wishing they were closer...hint hint...

Now for the photos! The older kids photos are coming...they are a little less co-operative these days. ENJOY...

lets face it.

i think its time i admit that i may be the worlds worst family blogger. hahaha. okay, my business site has taken over and honestly, its hard for me to find time to post here. i will get back in the swing of things, its just not going to be as frequent as i would like. i want to keep this going so that i am able to create a book for the kids and keep track of their little memories...so i must get better...

us? well...life is great. busy as always. isnt everyone?

older kids in school, swimming, volleyball, tennis lessons, prepping for halloween...yup, that is still an exciting time even at 10 & 12. hehe. doing awesome in school...we are so proud of these smart little cookies i tell yah!

younger kids keeping us going all day everyday. simon never stops...until bedtime and then he is out cold. he misses his extended family and has started to ask them (mild guilt trip, but the honest truth)...he will be starting swimming lessons in november and is also doing 2 mornings of daycare so that mom can keep her sanity...somewhat. isla is a D I V A! yup, she is my diva baby. love her to bits...she just loves to be loved so much that if i am out of site, you are bound to hear about it. of course she is too cute for words.

mark...well, he is an investment advisor...how do you think he is doing? hello STRESS!

me? which was is up? ha. building a business, raising babies and trying to be the worlds best wife and mother...its exhausting.

will put together some photos to share...i will i promise!

take care all, we miss you and wish you a happy thanksgiving in advance!

yikes!

Its been how long since i posted? eek.

Okay well I am back, in a way. I have a lot of work on my plate and will be updating my business website very often...so it may leave my family blog slightly neglected. It must end! I have lots of photos in the works to share as I am sure you are dying to see the wee ones and how much they are changing.

Si is a potty training machine. He really is trying, but unless asked...forget it! He started daycare this week. Yes DAYCARE! We thought it would be great for him to interact with kids his age and well...give mama a little break. So far he is loving it, but ma is still slightly traumatized.

Isla is doing well...recovering from a little cold, but she is tough. She requires lots of mommy time, but heck it wont last forever...so I get it when I can. She is growing too fast and I wish she would just take a breather and stay this age for a while!

Haley just had her 10th bday party. A spa party that was planned for her in about 24 hours and turned out amazing. It was such a great time and I will be sharing photos...better late then never.

Trev is a pre-teen...what can I say? I pretty much dont know what he is up to other then hanging with his friends. That is about all he wants to do these days. ha. I believe the time has finally come, we are simply not cool any more!

Since I dont have much in the way of family stuff edited right now, I will leave you with a few I have posted for business purposes...

belly giggles.

So quickly we move from a sweet little blob into innocent smiles. Then suddenly, as if she has done it every day of her little life...here come the giggles. They are insanely sweet and make me laugh every single time. Just over 3 months old and she has brought us more joy then we could have imagined.

Simon adores these little giggles and quickly responds "she's smiling, she's smiling". He sure does love that sissy of his. Speaking of quick changes, little Simon is growing a little bit everyday. Chatting up a storm, singing and shaking what his mama gave him...he loves to dance! We are again working on the potty training and doing well so far...but man oh man I am dealing with one strong willed mini person. hehe.

Trev & Haley are back at school and LOVING it. Yes I said LOVING it! Maybe it has something to do with being in class with their bestfriends. They both lucked out in that department this year. They are busy kids and about to start fall activities...Haley is going to swim and take tennis. Trev is giving volleyball a shot and trying out his hand at tennis as well. We are proud that they are trying new things!

Me? I am a few business edits behind, so please be patient for photos...in the meantime, head over to check out some of my recent work...

thanks much.

a little bit of haley...

I know I have said it before...but there is something about this girl...

I dont know how to put it into words other then...she has a heart and mind like no other. She is kind in a way that a 10 year old should not know. She sees the little things in life and enjoys them...a warm cookie, a reflection on the lake, making us amazing fruit plates just because...

Yesterday morning she was set to go for a bike ride with "the boys" (daddy & trev). Before departure this note (word for word and spelling) was found at Trevors door...

Dear Trevor,

I would like to just remind you that I'm coming on the bike ride and that I will be succsessfull! By the way Please don't do these things:

- Go way Too Fast!
- Don't ever say that I can't
- Wait for me (if you can please!) ***yes this was noted under dont do these things...hehe***

Well Thanks!

Sinci ***crossed out***
yours Truly,
Haley ***in handwriting*** xoxo

The parts inside of stars I noted. Is this too cute for words or what? hehe. We just adore this girl...

thirteen. [and 10 days overdue]

thirteen? WHAT?

We are talking pounds here people. That would be the weight of the baby miss! WOWZERS! I believe someone is going to follow in the footsteps of their big bro...super eater...

Thursday [the 7th, hence the 10 days overdue note in the title] Isla received her first round of shots (my poor baby), and she did amazing. A good scream and then a cuddle and snooze. Such a trooper.

Smiles are a constant now. We are fortunate to have such an amazing smiley baby. She is currently sleeping through most nights (OH YAH)! It is quite the gift to get a full nights sleep at 9 weeks. We are very proud of the little lady...and I do trust that she is not just teasing us and it will continue!

its bruce...

Buke is Bruce! Yes I know how excited you all are to know that. Ha.

We were watching "Shark Tale" this afternoon and as a shark came to the screen...Si yelled out..."its Bruce"! Soooo...where did Bruce come from? NEMO!!! I am so excited that we have figured this out. I do not know why Bruce the Shark has entered our home life...but for the time being, he is here!

where's buke?

Have you seen him? Cause I am trying hard to find him...hehe...

Okay, I know you must be wondering what I am talking about. Well, I believe our son may have let his imagination run a little wild. A few nights back he had a tough night and since he will not sleep with his door closed...and woke up looking for Buke. At first I thought he was telling me that he had to puke, yes lovely I know...but that is what I thought he was saying. Once we established that was not the case, we tried all morning to figure out what he was saying...

At this point we have settled on Buke. Simon will say things such as "Buke is coming over", "where Buke go", "Buke right there" (and point at a door etc). Its a little freaky actually! ha. We dont talk about Buke unless Si brings him up, but I sure would love to know what is going on in that mind. Who knows, maybe he is just messing around with us. Kids are smart yah know!

I will take some snaps of him today...we have been so busy with the move and family in town that I have not been behind the camera much.

Off to locate Buke...

you've got the cutest little baby face.

I could spend an entire day looking at this precious little girl...

She has the cutest grin! When she shares it with us (which has she been doing quite often), it shows off the tiny little dimple in her left cheek and I cannot help but smile. Its amazing how a simple smile from such a tiny person can light up an entire room.

Now, as much as this girl loves to share her smiles...she also has the most ADORABLE little pout face...hehe. She can make herself look so darn sad. I think it's her "look at me mama" face and we adore it just as much as those sweet little grins.

Dont grow up too fast baby miss miss...

summer lovin'

Its fantastic to finally be seeing the sunshine for more then a few brief moments. So far, we have not had much of a summer...but it makes me appreciate these amazing sunshine filled days that much more.

We ventured out to the water park late yesterday. Simon LOVES the water park, he is constantly asking to go...however yesterday was the first time he really went into the water! He usually enjoys observing from the sidelines and running whenever the water comes too close. I think having daddy by his side yesterday was a huge help in reassuring him that all would be fine...even if he got a little wet!

I did not take my camera with me (next time)...but I do have a few recent snaps of the 2 youngest. The eldest have been too busy unpacking and getting settled...so we will hopefully get some shots of them next week.

As for the move...it is taking far longer to get settled then I would like. The reality of 2 young kids sure does hit when you are try to get anything done! The garage is full of boxes and will likely remain that way for sometime...ah well...who needs to be organized? Oh wait...ME!

chillin' outside

I dont think this boy loves anything more then hanging outside. Okay, maybe sports...and his dad! I snapped a few photos only a couple of days before we moved and wanted to share before I totally forgot...

Will post later about "updates".

Tell me he does not look devilish in the last photo! He had water on his face and I just love how his eyebrows spiked up...

family time.

We spent loads of time in the yard this past weekend...it was nice to finally have some beautiful weather! Much of he time was spent on the new bouncy obstacle course that we purchased. It is amazing and we will have to post a photo at some point. The kids...LOVE IT!

I am excited to be getting back behind the camera...

We all love you very much and hope that you enjoy today...yah old man...

Love you much...your gang

waiting...and updating...

So, if you have not heard...we didnt move! Yah, you can imagine how impressed we were to find our house was yet again NOT COMPLETE! Really, it would be much easier if we didnt have half of our stuff in boxes and 4 kids. Trying to plan is becoming interesting...and well, we all know...I am a planner. So, now we wait. They are saying 2 weeks...and me...I am saying "prove it".

As for updates...baby miss saw the doc today and she is a growing girl. If you can believe it, she will be one month on thursday. Yup, an entire MONTH! Yikes. That sure flew by. At todays appointment she was 9lbs 15ozs! Hello super eater. hehe. We did find out that she has a hernia in her belly button, however the doctor informs me that this happens in about 10% caucasion babies and usually corrects itself before they turn one. So nothing will be done at this point.

Tomorrow is June 26th...and we all know what that means...okay, you probably dont...but I do! Check back tomorrow and find out.

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

lets get moving.

I would say its long overdue...especially considering we have had stuff in boxes for just about a month (having thought we were moving May 30th). So, this weekend is it! Yup. Moving truck comes Monday morning to move all of the big stuff, but outside of that...Mark plans on hauling boxes over the weekend. I believe we are both still in denial of the move...it just seems like we have waited for so long and now the time is finally here. Not sure how we are going to swing it with a 2 year old hanging on our legs and a 3 week old baby...good thing the older kids are so helpful!

We will be sure to share some photos when we are in and settled...until then I am sure you will see some delays in blogging...

Off to PACK! Ugh.

3 weeks.

THREE WEEKS? What?

It has been 3 entire weeks since baby miss Isla entered our lives. Everything about her is perfect (well in my very bias eyes). Our life is adjusting, although it is no where near settling down. We are hoping to move this coming weekend...and once we are unpacked from that...I may actually consider our lives to be somewhat settled.

As for our little lady...she is a super eater, good sleeper and all around happy baby. She tends to have a fussy time in the morning...much better then the middle of the night if you ask me! As i type this she is conked out on my lap...ha. Simon is out on the deck enjoying what seems to be summer weather. Daddy is golfing, the kids are at their Mom's and well...I am taking these 2 minutes of peace to post some photos of the wee missy...

ENJOY!
